Post #8 - Me & U

This post is supposed to be about that idea I came up with, but I'll write about that later on. Right now I just wanted to share the cutest thing with you guys.

Well yesterday all 5 of the boys were over to swim with Jasmin and just hang out. Then Masard-Ji came over. I totally forgot that it was his birthday until I remembered around 1AM in the morning! So if you're reading this, HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY, MASARD-JI!!!! :)

Shortly afterwards, Amar and Ajay left with Marsard-Ji, but Arjan, Aneil, and Ameer stayed over for the rest of the afternoon. We ordered pizza (cheese ONLY for Ameer, absolutely no pepperoni, haha) and ate it while we watched a movie. Then Harinder, Arjan, and I went out for a quick spin to get hot fudge sundaes for everyone since I was craving one really badly! During the trip, Arjan caught us both up on how he visited his new high school last week, which was neat to hear about.

Anyways, I'm still trying to wrap my head around the fact that after he had his pizza, Ameer ate a chocolate popsicle, Oreo ice-cream, and a hot fudge sundae!!! Wow, we better not tell Mami-Ji, haha. But yeah, it was so much fun just all chilling together. Too bad you were at work, Roger - you would've really enjoyed it! It's so different having the boys over. Definately louder, but also the house is just full of so much energy!

I dropped the boys off at home around 10pm (we saw a werewolf man on the way - funny story!) and the cute part of all this comes during that car ride there, but first I'm going to go off track a bit. As I pulled out of the driveway, the boys asked me to put on "Me & You" by Cassie. You guys already know that's Mama's song. I remember a couple of days after everything happened, Sukhi and I were driving over to Masi's to pick up some sleeping medication for Mami-Ji. On the way, Sukhi turned up the volume and asked me who the song was by. I had heard it so many times, but I couldn't quite remember the artist. I told her I loved the song and that I thought it was by Ciara. WRONG! I later realized it was by Cassie. Anyways, Sukhi told me she wanted to know because the night before everything happened, Mama had called her on her cell. She was back in her Seattle apartment at the time and said that she missed the phonecall, but in the background of Mama's message, she could hear the song pounding. Ever since then, EVERYONE has that song in their car. I told Roger what Sukhi had told me, she told Arjan, and the rest is history! I remember one time I was in the car with Harinder. I said something along the lines of, "Everyone's playing this song now, huh?" and he said yeah. I think you all agree that every time you hear that song, you think of Mama and nothing else.

I remember Anitan called me a few days after everything happened and one of the messages he left me was blank, but I heard the song blaring in the background. I called him later and left him a message telling him why the song was so significant. It was as if I heard it everywhere! On the radio, especially. Not long after everything happened, I had to go up to school and it came on. I was driving up the hill to SFU and I just remember kind of looking up into the sky while I sang along to it. It was such a nice, clear day out and I just remember thinking about how much I missed Mama and wishing that he was still here to sing along to the words of the song with me...

He had wicked taste in music that's for sure. I realized that when I was in high school! But now that I've mentioned all that, back to the cute moment in the car:

I was going to put that song on for the boys when the remix of "So Sick" by Ne-Yo came on. Ameer asked me to leave it on and guess what - he knew ALL THE WORDS! I just thought it was the cutest thing ever. I mean usually when I sing along to songs, I mix up all the words and say things that just sound familiar! I can't even think of a funny example now, but believe me, I get quite creative, haha.

But yeah, I said, "Wow, Ameer! Do you know ALL the words??" and Aneil jumped in and said, "Yeah, that's the only reason he likes the song!" Still, it was super cute. But I think next time we'll sing along to "Me & U" instead :)
